The Hazen property achieves a refined in blending “Storybook Traditional” charm with high-end modern updates. Courtland Studio, LLC collaborated closely with the homeowners to reimagine this Beverly Hills estate, creating a warm, elevated, and personalized outdoor living environment that maximizes hillside topography.

Authentic Northern European Wellness: The Estonian Sauna

A primary focal point of the redesign was the integration of an authentic Northern European-style sauna, custom-manufactured in Estonia.

Artisanal Pool & Spa Renovation

The estate features a completely reimagined swimming pool and attached spa, emphasizing texture and character through artisanal materials.

• Finishes: Homeowner utilized stone-like pool finishes and vibrant Spanish-style porcelain tiles to add depth and Mediterranean flair.

Innovative Hillside Engineering & Terraced Decking

Navigating the steep terrain of Beverly Hills required hillside landscape design and structural coordination.

• Multi-Level Living: We developed a series of terraced outdoor areas featuring multi-level wooden decks.
• Connectivity: Custom-crafted steep stairs and pathways allow for seamless navigation of the sloped terrain, maintaining an organic, harmonious aesthetic that feels connected to the natural hillside.

Atmospheric Landscape Lighting & Planting

Lighting and horticulture were used to soften the structural elements and create a year-round “resort” feel.

• Professional Lighting: Subtle, warm-toned landscape lighting highlights wooden steps, pathways, and mature specimen trees, ensuring safety while creating a dramatic nighttime ambiance.
