Kirkside – Beverlywood

Project Location: Beverlywood, City of Los Angeles, CA

Design Style: Traditional Residential / Drought-Tolerant Modern

Located in the heart of the historic Beverlywood neighborhood, in this single-family residential project Courtland Studio, LLC reimagined the property’s street presence to deliver a high-impact curb appeal that honors the community’s traditional aesthetic while embracing the necessity of sustainable, water-resistant landscaping.

Symmetrical & Balanced Traditional Design

The landscape was designed to complement the home’s classic architecture. By utilizing a symmetrical layout, we created a sense of permanence and order that fits perfectly into the Beverlywood streetscape.

  • The Palette: We blended high-texture succulents with lush, drought-tolerant greenery to create a “full” look that requires minimal irrigation.
  • Curb Appeal Strategy: Strategic layering of heights—from low-profile groundcovers to structural accent plants—draws the eye toward the home’s entry, increasing the property’s visual presence.

Sustainable Luxury for Los Angeles Living

In a city prioritizing water conservation, this project proves that sustainability doesn’t have to mean sparse.

  • Water-Wise Innovation: We utilized a curated selection of resilient succulents that provide year-round color and structural interest without the high water demands of a traditional lawn.
  • Lush Textures: By mixing various shades of green and silver, we achieved a lush feel that provides a soft, inviting atmosphere for this family-oriented neighborhood.

Landscape Architecture & Neighborhood Integration

We balanced the owners’ desire for a modern, low-maintenance garden with the traditional character of Beverlywood, and we created a timeless landscape that will mature beautifully for years to come.
