Nestled in the foothills of Valencia, this palatial Stevenson Ranch estate is a work of symmetry and timeless elegance. Drawing inspiration from the owners’ Mediterranean heritage, Courtland Studio, LLC designed a landscape that harmonizes grand-scale architecture with the beauty of the Santa Clarita foothills.

The Centerpiece: A Symmetrical Roman Pool & Spa

The landscape is anchored by a formal, symmetrical pool design with strong Roman influences.

• Elevated Spa: A focal point that offers a commanding view of the property.
• Palm-Lined Allee: We integrated mature palm trees and the owners’ beloved olive trees to create a classic Mediterranean palette that feels established and at home.
• Custom Water Features: A bespoke, drafted, and built central water fountain adds a layer of auditory tranquility and visual grandeur to the entry court.

Designed for Large-Scale Entertaining

Recognizing the property’s potential for high-capacity gatherings, the site plan features:

• Luxury Pool House: A 1,500 sq. ft. structure designed for poolside events and family use.
• Multi-Zonal Living: Integrated fire pits, shaded lounges, and limestone-paved gathering areas that offer a seamless transition from the interior to the outdoors.
• Formal Gardens: Vibrant beds of pink and red flowers provide a seasonal tapestry of color against the silver-green tones of the Mediterranean foliage.

Landscape Architecture & Foothill Integration

This project showcases our expertise in hillside integration, ensuring the palatial structure feels grounded within the rugged Santa Clarita landscape. By blending modern hardscape with traditional European garden elements, we created a serene retreat with sweeping, unobstructed views of the surrounding mountains.
